1. Definition of Web Design

Web Design is term used to describe how to display the contents of a website. Interface of website usually is a hypertext (HTML) or hypermedia that is sent to the user via the World Wide Web, it takes a web browser. The main purpose is to create a website that includes a collection of online content including documents and applications that reside on a web server. It also can be used as form of blocks of text, images, sounds and other content, and can be interactive or static.

 

2. Some Things About Web Design

Web Design is the process of designing web sites. Utilizing a variety of disciplines, such as animation, authoring, communication design, corporate identity, graphic design, human-computer interaction, information architecture, interaction design, marketing, photography, search engine optimization and typography. There are several principles that should be considered in making Web Design :

  1. Metaphore is using old-principle to be used in new-principle.
  2. Clarity is the main purpose of the web design.
  3. Consistency is where web designer must have consistency with theme of the website.
  4. Alignment will measure how easy to read an article. It is important because it affects visitor when reading an article.
  5. Proximity is about placement of a field.
  6. Contrast will make visitor comfortable when reading an article.

 

There are some sites that I make judgments based on one example of the above principles.
  1. World wide store
    Judging from first principles (Metaphore), this site is in conformity with the principle of Metaphore. This site discusses the sale of relics of ancient objects as artifacts, jewelry and others. And not to miss, the site is equipped with information on these ancient objects. So that the reader / buyer can find out about these ancient objects.
  2. Schwab
    Judging from the second principle (Clarity) This site clearly shows the wide range of business shares (investment). Site aims to provide information for the investor as to identify products that are invested, and the transactions regarding the product.
  3. Santafean
    Viewed from a third principle (Consistency), the contents of this site in my opinion meets the principle of consistency (the Decree), because in this site despite having a wide – range of categories, but still has a coherence in the field of art (ART), or in other words the content of this site has the provision in terms of art.
  4. Delta
    Judging from the sixth principle (contrast), this site is made as attractive as possible to the placement of features – features that are strategic, so features – these features can allow visitors to the site in search of information about flight departure.

3. Web Design

Web design (web design) is a general term used to include the contents of the web how content is displayed (usually hypertext or hypermedia) that is delivered to end users via the World Wide Web, using a web browser or web-based software. The purpose of web design is to create a website-a collection of online content including documents and applications residing on web server / servers. A website can be a bunch of text, images, sounds and other content, and can be interactive or static. Mark-up language (such as HTML, XHTML and XML)

  • Server-side scripting (such as PHP and ASP)
  • Database technologies (such as MySQL and PostgreSQL)
  • Multimedia technologies (such as Flash and Silverlight)

Web designer or web designer (web designer) is a person who has expertise in creating content presentation (usually hypertext or hypermedia) that is delivered to end-users via the World Wide Web, using a Web browser or Web software-enabled such as Internet television, microblogging, RSS, and so on.
With growing specialization within communication design and information technology fields, there is a strong tendency to draw a clear line between web design specifically for web pages and web development overall of all web-based services.
